ALLIANCE, OHIO – (June 3, 2026) – Shawn Doak, a 2010 graduate of Alliance High School, has been hired as the new varsity girls soccer coach. The Alliance Board of Education voted unanimously to hire him at last night’s meeting.

“We are excited to welcome Shawn as the next head coach of our girls soccer program,” said Tim Goodman, ACS Athletic Director. “Shawn’s passion for Alliance soccer and enthusiasm for leading our student-athletes were evident throughout the interview process. Most importantly, Shawn is invested in Alliance Soccer for the long haul. We believe his leadership, energy, and commitment make him an outstanding choice to lead our program into the future.”

As well as being an alum of the AHS soccer program, Doak has over 15 years of coaching experience in youth and high school soccer. He served as an assistant soccer coach at AHS in 2013 before serving as the assistant coach at Waterloo High School in 2015 and as head coach for the program in 2016. Doak has worked as a girls youth development trainer and coach for the Alliance Development Training program since 2018.

“As an Alliance graduate and someone deeply involved in our youth soccer program, Shawn understands our community and has witnessed the growth of our program firsthand,” Goodman said. “He is committed to continuing that growth and building a program that our athletes and community can be proud of.”

Doak has strong leadership and communication skills, and is dedicated to helping student-athletes improve their skills and sportsmanship in the coming season. 

I am excited for the opportunity to lead the girls soccer program and continue building on the strong tradition that has been established,” Doak said. “Having coached in the youth program for more than 10 years, I understand the importance of developing both skilled athletes and strong young women. I look forward to helping our players grow on and off the field while creating a positive, competitive culture. As the saying goes, ‘One good moment can turn a whole day around, and I hope to create many of those moments for our players and program.

Doak will step into the position immediately to help get the team ready for the fall 2026 season.
